5 Components of Physical Fitness

Physical fitness is the ability to function effectively throughout your workday, perform your usual other activities and still have enough energy left over to handle any extra stresses or emergencies which may arise.

The components of physical fitness are:

* Cardiorespiratory (CR) endurance - the efficiency with which the body delivers oxygen and nutrients needed for muscular activity and transports waste products from the cells.

5 Components of Physical Fitness

* Muscular strength - the greatest amount of force a muscle or muscle group can exert in a single effort.

* Muscular endurance - the ability of a muscle or muscle group to perform repeated movements with a sub-maximal force for extended periods of times.

* Flexibility - the ability to move the joints or any group of joints through an entire, normal range of motion.

* Body composition - the percentage of body fat a person has in comparison to his or her total body mass.

Improving the first three components of fitness listed above will have a positive impact on body composition and will result in less fat. Excessive body fat detracts from the other fitness components, reduces performance, detracts from appearance, and negatively affects your health.

Factors such as speed, agility, muscle power, eye-hand coordination, and eye-foot coordination are classified as components of "motor" fitness. These factors most affect your athletic ability. Appropriate training can improve these factors within the limits of your potential. A sensible weight loss and fitness program seeks to improve or maintain all the components of physical and motor fitness through sound, progressive, mission specific physical training.

Principles of Exercise

Adherence to certain basic exercise principles is important for developing an effective program. The same principles of exercise apply to everyone at all levels of physical training, from the Olympic-caliber athlete to the weekend jogger.

These basic principles of exercise must be followed.

Regularity

To achieve a training effect, you must exercise often. You should exercise each of the first four fitness components at least three times a week. Infrequent exercise can do more harm than good. Regularity is also important in resting, sleeping, and following a sensible diet.

Progression

The intensity (how hard) and/or duration (how long) of exercise must gradually increase to improve the level of fitness.

Balance

To be effective, a program should include activities that address all the fitness components, since overemphasizing any one of them may hurt the others.

Variety

Providing a variety of activities reduces boredom and increases motivation and progress.

Specificity

Training must be geared toward specific goals. For example, people become better runners if their training emphasizes running. Although swimming is great exercise, it does not improve a 2-mile-run time as much as a running program does.

Recovery

A hard day of training for a given component of fitness should be followed by an easier training day or rest day for that component and/or muscle group(s) to help permit recovery. Another way to allow recovery is to alternate the muscle groups exercised every other day, especially when training for strength and/or muscle endurance.

Overload

The work load of each exercise session must exceed the normal demands placed on the body in order to bring about a training effect.

6 Key Benefits of Teamwork

There is a saying that many hands make light work. The essence of this statement is that more can be achieved as a collective than individually. There are numerous benefits of teamwork. Here are my top 6.

1. Creativity

We all have different skills, knowledge and personal attributes. By utilising all of these different aspects in a team, more ideas can be generated. As more ideas are generated, more creative solutions are generated, leading to better results.

6 Key Benefits of Teamwork

2. Satisfaction

Lack of job satisfaction is often one of the key things highlighted in surveys of employees. Individuals working together as a team to achieve a common goal are continually developing. As they interact more energy and enthusiasm is created. When this energy is utilised, it produces results which positively impacts on motivation and leads to even more success.

3. Skills

Even the best qualified individual cannot have all of the skills to do everything. Some people excel at coming up with the ideas. Others love the detail while there are those that focus on the big picture. There are others who can be counted on when it comes to implementing and follow through of a plan.

The key point is that when a team works together, it has a huge range of skills available that it can utilise to deliver extraordinary results.

4. Speed

Imagine that you have a project that needs research, pulling together a proposition, financing it, implementing it and delivering specific benefits. If one person was allocated this task, it could take months and maybe years to make it happen. By splitting up the project, work can move forward in parallel and the ultimate goal achieved faster.

5. Sounding board

We all have a range of options open to us. If we are trying to figure out what is best, we might never move forward. In a team situation, other team members can act as a sounding board, allowing us to cut through the options and get on with those most likely to achieve the desired goal.

6. Support

It is amazing the amount of camaraderie that is created in teams, especially when the going gets tough. People will often go to what seems like extreme lengths when they know that they can rely on the support and encouragement of the team. Never underestimate the significance of this in achieving results.

Teams that work well make a huge impact and benefit from the rewards that go with this impact. So how might you leverage the benefits of teamwork in your organisation?

Creating Successful Grand Opening Flyers

Grand opening flyers have been used to generate excitement along with a flood of traffic to a new business for decades now. You have the ability of spreading the word about your products and services to each household in your community in a relatively short period of time. However, there are critical steps you need to take when advertising grand opening flyers. Here are a few tips to help you get started.

Branding
There has been many times where I seen a new business trying to advertise their grand opening flyers using some lame "copy shop" type of printing method. Not only does this portray you as being cheap, your potential customers will wonder how the quality of the product or service will be when they make their first purchase. Remember, when you advertise your selling your brand. Take the time to hire a professional graphic designer. Create a logo that separates you from the competition. After all, you deserve a better flyer than one that has been printed on bright orange paper with no graphic images of your gorgeous products.

Consistency
You have weeks to celebrate the grand opening of your business. Take advantage of the once in a lifetime opportunity and advertise your flyers each week for as long as you are legally permitted to do so. There is a reason behind this strategy. Consumers have no idea who you are or what you have to offer. In addition, you are trying to convince then to choose your new products and services over your competitors. It will take a while before people are convinced enough to take you up on your offer. Think about this when your estimating the budget for your grand opening flyers.

Creating Successful Grand Opening Flyers

Background
You are the new business on the block. No one knows what your specialty is, who you are, or where you come from. People like to buy from people they know and trust. Leave some space in your grand opening flyer to talk about your self. Are you from the city or state you are conducting business. What type of skills do you have that make you better than the competition? Talk about these things in your message to give people a brief introduction and don't be scared to show a picture of your gorgeous face somewhere in the flyer. Remember, people respond to faces.

These are the basic elements you need to know when creating grand opening flyers. Keep it simple by hiring professionals to do the job. Not only will you feel better about the image you are creating for your new business. The results will show up in your sales year-after-year. Here's to the successful launch of your new business!

Classification of Computers

Computers are available in different shapes, sizes and weights, due to these different shapes and sizes they perform different sorts of jobs from one another.

They can also be classified in different ways. All the computers are designed by the qualified computer architectures that design these machines as their requirements.

A computer that is used in a home differs in size and shape from the computer being used in a hospital. Computers act as a server in large buildings, while the computer also differs in size and shape performing its job as a weather forecaster.

Classification of Computers

A student carrying a laptop with him to his college is different in shape and size from all the computers mentioned above.

Here we are going to introduce different classifications of computers one by one. We will discuss what are in classifications and what job they perform.

Super computer

The biggest in size, the most expensive in price than any other is classified and known as super computer. It can process trillions of instructions in seconds. This computer is not used as a PC in a home neither by a student in a college.

Governments specially use this type of computer for their different calculations and heavy jobs. Different industries also use this huge computer for designing their products.

In most of the Hollywood's movies it is used for animation purposes. This kind of computer is also helpful for forecasting weather reports worldwide.

Mainframes

Another giant in computers after the super computer is Mainframe, which can also process millions of instruction per second and capable of accessing billions of data.

This computer is commonly used in big hospitals, air line reservations companies, and many other huge companies prefer mainframe because of its capability of retrieving data on a huge basis.

This is normally to expensive and out of reach from a salary-based person who wants a computer for his home.

This kind of computer can cost up to thousands of dollars.

Minicomputer

This computer is next in he line but less offers less than mainframe in work and performance. These are the computers, which are mostly preferred by the small type of business personals, colleges, etc.

Personal computers

Almost all the computer users are familiar with the personal computers. They normally know what the personal computer is and what are its functions.

This is the computer mostly preferred by the home users. These computers are lesser in cost than the computers given above and also, small in size; they are also called PCs in short for Personal computers.

This computer is small in size and you can easily arrange it to fit in your single bedroom with its all accommodation. Today this is thought to be the most popular computer in all.

Notebook computers

Having a small size and low weight the notebook is easy to carry to anywhere. A student can take it with him/her to his/her school in his/her bag with his/her book.

This is easy to carry around and preferred by students and business people to meet their assignments and other necessary tasks.

The approach of this computer is also the same as the Personal computer. It can store the same amount of data and having a memory of the same size as that of a personal computer. One can say that it is the replacement of personal desktop computer.

Building Team Spirit

Team spirit is one of the essential agents to performance and success. The basic fundamentals of any business are their marketing strategies, advertising plans, equipped technology and capital investment. But these fundamentals are worthless without the emotional commitment of the people working for the particular business. The expensive facilities, huge customer base and frontline staff can do no wonders if the working members are not bounded to dedicate themselves towards a common goal of elevating the business.

The most important aspect of sharing a common goal is building a team spirit. Team spirit is a feeling of working together as one. Team spirit is the only ladder that can take any business to pride, expansion and success. This emotional connection of the working group provides a deep sense of making a whole lot difference through meaningful work.

With the thought of 'unity is strength', every big and small company is promoting team spirit as a part of their culture to pave way to win the game. All the employees work together to buy comparable products at competitive prices through acquisition and potentially, producing the best outcome. The only company that makes tangible investment in making a good team is the company that climbs the ladder at a faster pace.

Building Team Spirit

In this world of everyone-for-himself, it is difficult to develop team spirit but yet we have gathered some meaningful resources that can help you as a leader to bind your team members with one common goal.

Here are some of the team building activities:

1. Encourage universal cooperation among team members and divide them in small groups to help them work together by supporting each other.

2. Identify non-value-added work such as Bureaucracy, rework, and inefficiency that destroys the feeling of commitment. Involve team members into action plans and reduce useless work.

3. Build a strong and well established relationship between the organization and customers. Involve your customers in various events, training programs and celebrations. This will help you dictate the qualities and effectiveness of your products and services in presence of huge number of people.

4. Give autonomy to the team and keep everything as simple as possible. Don't unnecessarily complicate things. Keep the rules, regulations, systems and principles lenient.

5. Develop a healthy environment by promoting humor and entertainment sessions. This can help release tensions and improve the power of determination. Ensure that the humors don't disguise barb among the team members.

6. Share your cup of tea with all your team members. Tell them your real life experiences of how you crossed all obstacles and tough times to reach the place where you are. This will motivate them and help them build an even stronger organization.

7. Avoid any kind of disagreement and miscommunication as these can lead to negative emotions and hamper the feeling of oneness.

8. Place a visible board with applause for members and let the whole organization acknowledge the worth of team spirit.

9. Recognize and celebrate all the significant activities and milestones reached. Try to approach all towards a positive attitude with a feeling of "we will win".

20 Questions to Get to Know Someone

What are 20 questions to get to know someone? Are you looking for a way to get to know someone inside and out but aren't sure what to ask? The following are 20 questions to get to know someone and their innermost thoughts without having to call on a psychic!

1.) Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

2.) How happy are you with your appearance?

20 Questions to Get to Know Someone

3.) What is the one thing you wish you could change about yourself?

4.) What is the one thing you like most about yourself?

5.) What is the one thing you regret the most in your life?

6.) Do you feel you had a happy childhood?

7.) Were you deprived or abused in any way as a child?

8.) How do you feel about your mother?

9.) How do you feel about your father?

10.) How do you feel about your parent's relationship?

11.) Do you feel closer to your mother or father?

12.) Do you still talk to any of your childhood friends?

13.) How many close friends do you have?

14.) Do you like to gossip?

15.) How do you feel about church and religion?

16.) What are your political views?

17.) How do you feel about children?

18.) Where is your favorite place to go?

19.) What do you like to do on weekends and/or in your spare time?

20.) Do you consider yourself outgoing?

Some of these 20 questions to get to know someone may seem simple. But all of them will give you deep insight into the personality of the one you are asking. For example, in the first question, "Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?", the answer will not only reveal the long term goals of this person, but it will also let you know more about who they are as a person. If they have big goals and dreams then they are the type of person who is pro-active and likes to make things happen. If they have small plans or none at all, then they are a complacent person and most likely will be in the same position 5 years from now as they are now.

And if they don't know what they want to do then they are probably still trying to find themselves and figure out what life is all about. They need more time before they will be ready to commit to anything. Asking these 20 questions to get to know someone will give you the answers you need.
